In Google’s latest announcement; the removal of a few features from the existing Search Console API got mentioned. More, the features that got mentioned are mostly related to the apps, particularly most of the Android apps’ search appearances.
That makes sense!
Besides, in February, Google already removed a few app properties from its Search Console. So removing the related features from API makes sense. More, Google informed all the app developers on its transition to Google’s Firebase platform for the specific type of reporting. Google also mentioned being no usage of specific appearance types in the UI; Google removed these types as they haven’t populated data in recent times. In future, Google will not show any of the appearance types on its API.
API changes include the below mentioned non-supportive appearance types:
- Is Install
- Is Opened
- Is App Universal
Besides, Google mentioned on Sitemaps API, saying that it will no longer populate the index status of pre-submitted sitemap files of the Indexed field. (This status got removed earlier this year informally without any formal announcements). Moreover, SEOs didn’t expect to see this release on Indexed field.
Google also mentioned on its commitment to the Search Console API while updating the Search Console API to the new one, i.e., a new Search Console. More, Google mentioned that they’re working irrespective of the time frames & are ready to share the new one at any moment, so asked to stay tuned!
We should care the Google’s Assumptions as their teams are developing the new Search Console features. So all we can do is to expect a new Search Console API with exciting features in the future. As per reports, the listed features above can’t get used for now.
